58 rue Pierre Dupont, 69001, Lyon, France
The inauguration is being held at the Chartreux institution and edifice which has a panoramic view of Lyon.
Two awards will be given to Dutch colleagues of long-standing. Holland was historically the co-founder of the IALMH and the two individuals being honoured have had extraordinary careers, both in human rights advocacy and in the sphere of forensic psychiatry. They are Gerda Later, who has appeared more than any other lawyer in the International Court of human rights in mental health law and Hjalmar van Marle, who served as the Chief Psychiatrist of the Dutch government and professor of forensic psychiatry in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
The ceremony will be followed by a reception on the terrace of Chartreux.
Chartreux can be arrived at by two public buses, C13 and C18, that run every 15 and 30 minutes respectively on Sundays. Delegates who wish to take the public bus should head towards the Hôtel de Ville Stop close to the Subway Line A. Taxis and Ubers can also be used. It is a twenty-minute walk going down the hill at the end of the evening. The IALMH is in the process of trying to organize a bus to descend for those who wish it.
